Autosupplies selects MAM Autopart following expansion
MAM Software is pleased to report that Autosupplies (Chesterfield) Ltd, one of the largest single branch motor factors in the UK, has chosen MAM Autopart to manage its business operations following its recent acquisition of Butlers Automotive. The software is being used throughout both businesses and will provide efficient stock management and reporting across the organisation.
Autosupplies started as a supplier to the refinishing and paintwork industry in 1990. The company has seen sustained and progressive growth over its 28 years in business and today supplies a 50/50 split of both refinishing products and components.
Operating from a 40,000 sq ft site in Bolsover, Autosupplies employs 100 members of staff and manages a fleet of 60 delivery vehicles. The company recently acquired Butlers Automotive, a business that has been trading in Barnsley for more than 40 years.
Speaking about the acquisition, David Clarke, Autosupplies managing director, said: “We are delighted to have secured Butlers Automotive’s future. The company is highly regarded in Barnsley for its customer service and it is a name and brand that we are determined to grow. The business is founded on traditional values and this, coupled with the backing of the UK’s largest single branch motor factor in Autosupplies, means an exciting future ahead.”
To facilitate the smooth integration of Butlers with its existing operations, Autosupplies has chosen to implement MAM’s Autopart business management software throughout both companies.
“We felt that the MAM system, which was already in use at Butlers, had the functionality and backing to support our ambitious plans for the future,” David explained. “We chose MAM’s cloud option for additional peace-of-mind, having previously experienced a virus that affected our server at Autosupplies.”
“Both locations were running different solutions, which was far from ideal,” David continued. “Moving both businesses onto a common platform has distinct advantages that will make us more efficient.
“For example, with the new Autopart system, both companies can see each other’s stock levels, meaning that we can still fulfil orders if one location is out of stock. We can also sell from one location on behalf of the other, avoiding bottlenecks if the phones are busy. And the stock ordering routines are a massive improvement – I can order for both locations far quicker than before.”
Concluding, David praised the software’s reporting features and its easy access to business-critical data, “I like the format of the MAM system and the information which is now available to us. In the long term it can only benefit both businesses.”
Speaking about the implementation, Mark Kendall, head of sales at MAM Software said, “We are delighted that Autosupplies have chosen Autopart. We’ve been supporting Butlers for fifteen years and we are pleased to extend our relationship to David and his team.
“Autosupplies are one of the country’s largest single branch motor factors and their decision to implement Autopart is testimony to the flexibility of the software and the support we’re able to provide. We look forward to working with Autosupplies and helping them achieve their goals over the years to come.”
