People are a company’s most important and vital asset. This fact is extremely important at Autosupplies. The company has grown in 27 years to employ over 100 people across a variety of roles; from management, counter sales, delivery drivers, telesales, administration, field sales and warehouse staff. All bring particular skills to their jobs and are supported at Autosupplies with on-the-job training and support.
The company also invests in young people. This follows the government’s emphasis on apprenticeship programmes. Autosupplies has consistently supported this important initiative with a programme of apprenticeships under the NVQ training scheme. David Clarke has always believed in supporting young people wanting to get into work. “After all”, as David says, “we were all young once and in today’s competitive working environment investing in young people pays dividend in the long run”.
The company has also instigated an important annual awards scheme, which recognises and rewards members of staff that go that extra mile and this is one of the reasons that staff retention at Autosupplies is well above the national average. The company recently recognised 16 members of staff who had each served over 10 years with the company.
